Your chance to own Robert Inghams BF741!

At this Spring's In House Show we are giving you the chance to place a bid for Robert Inghams BF 741. In January of this year Robert had his brand new CF741SP installed in his workshop, replacing his previous Felder model. As you can imagine the machine is in presteen condition and should certainly attract some attention at the show. For one lucky woodworker however, it could be the chance of a lifetime to own an amazing piece of wwodworking machine design, which has been owned by one of the best woodworkers in the land.

If you are interested in placing a bid for the machine, then further information on the exact specification of the machine and the terms and conditions of the auction can be obtained through Felder UK Ltd by either e-mail at auction@ukfelder.co.uk or by telephone 01908 635000.

Robert was also kind enough to give us his comments on the installation of the machine and his reasons for deciding on the new CF 741 S.

A couple of years ago I wrote an article for the British magazine
'Furniture and Cabinetmaking' about the Felder CF 741 S combination
machine. I had the previous model which I bought in 1997 and even
though it still performed to the level that I expected, I was curious
to know what improvements had been included in the latest version. I
visited the showroom at Milton Keynes with Colin Eadon Eden to test
the latest version. I have used Felder machines for many years and
have always been impressed with the quality of design and engineering
and have been aware of the improving standards that have represented
the progress of this family run Austrian company. The new model
featured many significant improvements including the X Roll sliding
table and lubrication free rise and fall and tilt mechanism for the
saw blade. The closing sentence of my article stated that I was
hoping to upgrade to the new model some time in the future. It took
two years to make a decision and the main reason for the delay was my
concern regarding the removal of my existing machine and the
installation of the new one due to the difficulty of access to my
workshop.

I had no need to worry when Matthew Applegarth and Peter Cox came to
visit my workshop to agree upon specification and determine how the
machines could be moved. Their knowledge and experience provided a
solution which resulted in a crane being used on the day of delivery
and the machines were moved without any problems. Dylan and Mark, the
two engineers who came and carried out the installation worked hard
and very diligently and I was very impressed with their desire to get
everything assembled and adjusted to the high standards that I now
associate with Felder products and service. I eagerly look forward to
many years of pleasure and satisfaction in the use of this
combination of quality and very high standards of performance.
